About Lee Mercer

Lee Mercer, the founder of the Lee Mercer Consultancy, is a long term aerial professional with a wealth of experience in the antenna industry both as an engineer and as a senior manager. He is well known and respected throughout the industry, having served two years on the board of the industry body, the CAI. He has developed many concepts around the installation of antennas and products associated with the industry which has led to an improvement in techniques. Lee has worked extensively with many RSL’s and Local Authorities, helping them achieve their particular goals with regard to “Digital Switchover”. The Lee Mercer Consultancy designed, implemented and delivered Channel Fives MATV upgrade programme, A £7million project that involved a large programme of working with installers and suppliers to ensure reception of Channel Five on MATV systems throughout the country resulting in over 1 million homes being upgraded and delivering an increase in Channel Five reception by ten percent. After completion of the Channel 5 project, Lee Mercer was contracted to Sky Television to head up the operational side of “Sky Homes” the department within Sky that looks after property. This involved the development of the so called Integrated Reception System as a form of Communal Aerial Installation for blocks of flats and larger estates of dwellings.  Lee was responsible for developing the specification for IRS that has largely become adopted throughout the UK, being recognised by such bodies as the DTG, Digital UK and the majority of UK landlords. Having developed this specification it has led to the introduction across the UK of IRS to in excess of 1.4million dwellings. Lee Mercer has managed many projects for Sky Homes ensuring that installations carried out by installers meet specification and are delivered on time and to budget. The number of dwellings Lee Mercer has been personally involved in upgrading now exceeds 250,000.
